There was an online e-Petition already this year, but that finished in April 2018. Please let everyone know that this is a NEW July to September 2018 petition

Can people under 18 years of age sign a petition?

Yes, if the petition is from residents of Queensland, and the person signing the petition is a resident of Queensland and they are old enough to understand what they are signing.

Can a paper petition and an e-petition with the same wording run concurrently?

Yes.

The Queensland Labor government is making another attempt to decriminslise abortion in our state.  Please sign the official parliamentary petition against this.

When the 2016-2017 petitions against the Pyne bills to decriminalise abortion and make it 'open season' on not-yet-born babies closed, the results were:

Petition against the first Pyne bill (decriminallisation of abortion): 23,869
Petition against the second Pyne bill (associated changes to other laws): 31,735

A total of 55,604 signees against the Pyne bills have been collected via the official parliamentary e-petitions.  

Queenslanders are firmly against abortion.
