A year ago: With just a day remaining before the vote, the Pyne bills were strategically withdrawn to avoid the embarrassment of defeat and the resulting setback to the pro-abortion agenda.  You and every other Queenslander who helped in this struggle truly made the difference!

At a press conference immediately after the move, Deputy Premier Jackie Trad and Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath announced that they would instead refer the existing laws to the Queensland Law Reform Commission.

The QLRC advertised for submissions two days before Christmas Day 2017 and submissions closed on 13 February 2018.  Its report to Parliament is due by 30 June.

The report will contain pro-abortion legislation drawn up by the QLRC as required by its terms of reference.  This Bill, which will seek to legalise abortion at any stage until birth and for any reason, will then be presented to Parliament.

Once again we need to demonstrate that the community remains overwhelmingly opposed to abortion.
